Faith and Finances Fall Course!
Do you want to strengthen your financial situation or help families become more financially secure?
We are looking for participants and mentors/allies for the upcoming Faith and Finances course which will begin in the fall at the Phelps County Dream Center!
Mentors/allies will help families in our region become economically stable by going through a proven 12-week course developed by The Chalmers Center with them.
The course will involve learning financial literacy skills, such as developing savings and spending plans, smart borrowing, budgeting, and saving for emergencies.
One independent assessment of the program showed a 30% improvement in emergency fund savings, budgeting and conversations about money with loved ones by the end of the course for those who participated. Optimism about their financial situation shifted from 40% to 86% by the end of the course.
The course will meet once weekly starting at the end of August and continuing through mid-November. The program will include sharing a meal together and child care.
